Eric Sturdza’s distinguished career in Private Banking and Asset Management spans more than four decades.
He obtained his Master’s Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Lausanne and started in the asset management division of Banque de l’Indochine, eventually holding senior leadership posts in various asset management firms, including KIPECO (affiliated with Kidder Peabody) and Citibank. Pursued by Baring Brothers in 1984, he established Banque Eric Sturdza and became its sole owner in 2005.
Today, the Group consists of a global network of financial institutions, including Banque Eric Sturdza, Coges Corraterie Gestion S.A., Eric Sturdza Management Company and E.I. Sturdza Strategic Management Ltd, the group’s asset management business set-up in 1999 to manage a range of funds in partnership with a select number of investment managers globally.
Eric was the Portfolio Manager to the Strategic US Momentum & Value Fund and responsible for its investment strategy from December 2011 through to its termination on the 14th December 2018, at which time the Sturdza Family Fund was simultaneously launched. The new Fund retained Eric’s investment philosophy at its heart, focusing on high growth and stable companies, but included more diversity and complementary geographical and financial opportunities.
The broadening of the investment universe to include bond instruments primarily aimed to reduce the volatility of returns, which the team believed would enable the Sturdza Family Fund to robustly navigate periods of uncertainty and give the Fund the ability to redeploy capital when markets allowed it.
